At Cloverdale Dental Centre in Surrey, we understand great-looking teeth help boost patients’ self-esteem, while putting out a healthy, beautiful smile. That is why we offer cosmetic dentistry options, including tooth whitening and veneers.
A white smile has become a number one aesthetic concern of most patients. It is a simple treatment used to change the colour of your tooth enamel. Most often patients are using a home whitening system that can significantly brighten your smile. With just two appointments, we can create a whitening kit that you can use in the comfort of your own home. Your first appointment requires an impression to be taken so we can fabricate your custom whitening trays. Once the trays are made we will have you come in for a comfort fitting. We will then supply you with a whitening gel, as well as instructions for use.
We will also take photos of your current shade of teeth so you can monitor your progress. Sensitivity can be very common in tooth whitening, but it will subside once you have completed the whitening process.
Veneers can give your smile and appearance a beautiful, refreshing new look. Veneers are custom-made, thin pieces of porcelain that are bonded on to the teeth. These require much less preparation than crowns and are generally used for cosmetic purposes only. Veneers can help with the appearance of crooked, discoloured and stained teeth. This is also a viable option for those with improperly spaced, chipped or worn teeth.
Having veneers applied requires only two appointments. Your first visit will is approximately 90 minutes in length, which includes the preparation of your natural tooth or teeth. Following a light buffing and reshaping of your natural tooth, we will then take an impression to submit to the dental laboratory. We will make a temporary veneer to be worn while your veneer is being fabricated. Your second appointment, approximately 40 minutes in length, will occur two weeks later. During this appointment, your veneer will be gently bonded on to the surface of the tooth. Some minor adjustments may be necessary for comfort purposes.
